I was looking for an easy hike. I was able to get some good advice from another great SOTA (Summits On The Air) ham. This one met my needs perfectly at 1.1 miles, +567 ft. There is also an alternative approach that is slightly shorter (0.7 miles total) which will give the hiker a good work out. Both routes are posted here. After a delightful walk I turned on my 2 meter radio at the top. I was able to hear a few chasers. I got one contact with AG6KM on 2 meters who tried to relay to the Chasers. That failed so it was time to set up the HF radio. HF was doing very good as I worked a fair share of folks until it was time to go. I meet with Don (zdonb) a Geocaching friend on the summit. He owns two of the waypoint caches mentioned below. He had just placed a new one (Near a crossroads http://coord.info/GC5GATA GC5GATA) coming to this summit from another approach. We packed up the  radio gear and walked down. After that we went to Brent’s Deli which is world class.

Plenty of parking at Trail Head: 34.178708, -118.792806 or just use the Geocache below. Summit is at 34.177200317383, -118.79830169678 equivalent to N 34° 10′ 37.92”  W 118° 47′ 53.89”

APRS2SOTA not used today as Cell service for T-Mobile was so good I was on the web directly.

There is No Benchmark at Summit to my knowledge.
